Japanese Art of the Floating World

Serena Spinelli - Art and the City presentation

Zoom Meeting

Join the Benvenuto club and Art Historian Serena Spinelli in a promenade through the Eastern routes. Enjoy an introduction to the art, history and culture of Edo period Japan. Witness the fleeting beauty of great masters Hiroshige, Utamaro, Hokusai and many others in the delicate but powerful expressions which have been so influential in the West. To capture the floating world of Ukiyoe art we shall examine images of pleasure quarters, courtesans, kabuki stars, traditional legends, popular folklore and nature’s poetic spirituality.

Technical Info:
Participation is by private zoom webinar. Upon registration, each participant will receive from Serena Spinelli a private invitation containing a link to be used on the above date and time of the event. The meeting will begin at 10.00 am sharp. Thank you.
